Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE)

Several of the Ecole du Louvre’s diplomas are available through the validation of acquired experience (VAE) scheme for professionals meeting the required conditions.

Introduction

Professionals wishing to validate their professional experience with a diploma from the Ecole du Louvre can submit an application file detailing their career path and professional achievements as part of the VAE scheme.

What is VAE?

Any person who has carried out a professional activity can benefit from validation of acquired experience (VAE) under certain conditions. Their work experience can allow them to receive an official certification which can help them progress professionally.

Just like attending a school or university, doing an apprenticeship or taking part in further education schemes, the VAE is a fully-fledged pathway to obtain a diploma.

A diploma is no longer just a way to sanction an educational course, it is also a way to sanction a professional and personal experience.

Requirements

You must have been, for at least one year (continuous or not):

  • Carrying out a professional activity, paid or unpaid,
  • Volunteering, with or without a written contract,
  • On the list of high-level athletes,
  • Carrying out trade union activities,
  • A local electoral mandate or a local elective function.

The experience must be related to the certification sought.

A job seeker, whether they receive benefits or not, can also benefit from VAE under certain conditions.

Interview with the VAE jury
The jury checks that your acquired knowledge corresponds to the skills, knowledge and skills required for the diploma you wish to obtain. The interview with the VAE jury will take place between March and April 2024.

Three decisions can be made:

  • Total validation: the jury considers that your acquired knowledge corresponds to the skills, knowledge and skills required for the diploma you wish to obtain. You then receive a skills certificate confirming this.
  • Partial validation: the jury considers that your acquired knowledge does not fully correspond to the skills, knowledge and skills required for the diploma you wish to obtain.
