La professeure Mandana Barkeshli de l’Institute of Creative Arts and Design de l’UCSI University, Malaisie, est invitée à l’Ecole du Louvre
Ce séminaire, réservé aux élèves de Master 1, et enseigné en anglais, a pour thème : Persian Islamic Manuscripts and Miniature Paintings : Materials and Techniques.
Lors de cette semaine, 16 élèves de Master 1 vont découvrir les manuscrits persans grâce à un enseignement théorique complété par des visites dans les collections françaises et des travaux pratiques où les élèves pourront manipuler les matériaux utilisés pour réaliser ces manuscrits.

The Ecole du Louvre is delighted to invite prof. Barkeshli for a one-week intensive course on Persian Islamic manuscripts
The course will cover traditional papermaking, Persian dyes, sizings and pigments and its materials and techniques along with conservation science related case studies. Moreover the workshop will demonstrate hands-on techniques of creating different types of paper dyes and paper sizings based on Persian Historical treatises from Taimurid (15th century) and Safawid (16th century) to Qajar (19th century) periods. During the course there will be a visit to view Islamic manuscript collection in museum, library and conservation laboratory.
